Presenters:
Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano took office on March 11, 2019. He received a bachelor’s degree in leadership studies from the University of Richmond. Later, Michael earned a master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University. He then graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and became an attorney. While serving as Auditor, Michael has brought a broad range of innovations to the office using the guide points of connect, protect, and reassess. He oversaw an efficient, accurate and equitable 2020 Triennial Update and a 2023 Reappraisal of all properties in the county, including commissioning a report by the Kirwan Institute on how to bring equality to the reappraisal process. He unveiled a Tax Incentive Hub that is a one-stop resource on every tax incentive in the county and has enhanced services using advanced technologies to make the office more accessible. Michael calls on a wide range of experiences, from his prior service as the Director of the Board of Elections to a position with The House of Commons and British Parliament. From 2011 to 2016 Michael served in the Ohio General Assembly, and from 2016 to 2019 he was a member of Columbus City Council, where he was elected President Pro Tem in 2018. Michael is currently an Adjunct Law Professor at Capital Law School.
Matthew Jackson currently serves as Deputy Financial Officer at Franklin County Auditor's Office and will be assisting the Auditor with this presentation.
Jakki Federer serves as Financial Services Supervisor at the Franklin County Auditor’s Office. She has worked for Franklin County for more than 30 years serving as Business Personal Property Tax Manager, Real Estate IT Specialist and Settlement Officer before moving into her current role in March 2024. Jakki will be assisting the Auditor with this presentation.
