Substance Use Disorders and Why
They Are a Bigger Problem in the Legal Profession
Substance use disorders are a bigger problem in the legal profession than in the general population. This program will emphasize the importance of understanding and analyzing physical and psychological health insights as potential tools to serve the goal of ameliorating or remedying SUDs in the legal profession. Attendees will learn:
How prevalent SUDs are in the legal profession and why;
Understand the importance of physical and psychological health insights in remediating SUDs;
What law students and lawyers can do to detect their own disordered use; and
Resources to support colleagues who may have a substance use disorder.
