Description: In this program, participants will review Ohio law related to the criminal liability for injuries caused from dog bites or attacks. The discussion will focus on how dogs may be designated as nuisance, dangerous, or vicious dogs, how those designations may be appealed, and how those designations are relevant when an individual is prosecuted for a failure to confine or restrain a dog. The program will examine relevant statutory law, as well as pertinent decisions of the Supreme Court of Ohio and Ohio Courts of Appeals. The program will also include a discussion of potential liability for third parties, such as landlords or condominium associations.
